Biography

Deejay Cross was born on 23rd December 1990 in Lira Regional Referal Hospital as Orombi Emmanuel to Mr. Joseph Obiro and Mrs. Kerin Obiro. He grew up around Down Town Clinic Kampala highway in Lira City, Uganda. Deejay Cross attended Ambalal primary school where he attained his Uganda Primary Leaving Examination in 2005, he also attended Dara Christian High School , where he attained his Uganda Certificate of Education in 2009, as well as Makerere Highway College Kampala, where he attained his Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education in 2011. He also joined other schools like Butanza College, Lweero and Lira Integrated School, Lira. He then attended YMCA in Kampala, where he studied IT Essential graduating with a Certificate in 2013. Entertainment Orombi began his djaying career in 2009, and adapted the stage name Deejay Cross though before he was known as Dj Slim Shy. His first gig was in December, 2009 where he was a DJ on his own birthday. Later in his djaying career he worked with Hills Bar, Lweero, DE Jug Pub Kampala, Marathon Pub, Lira, De Hive Pub, Lira and many more. In 2012, he joined 89.8 Radio WA as a youth presenter and a trainee in the YOUTH MAGAZINE show and he was the best out of 15 trainees mentored Emmanuel Bua. He left Radio Wa in 2015 and later joined 89.0 Radio North, Lira as a presenter, DJ and a producer under the supervision of Jan James and Richard Opio. At Radio North he was being mentored by the late Mungu Jakisa Othoba. In August 2019, he joined 96.1 Rhino FM as a presenter and producer and currently he is still with 96.1 Rhino FM. Besides being a DJ and a radio personality, he is also considered one of the youngest music promoters northern Uganda has ever produced since he also worked with Luo Tunes as a writer and a promoter. He is not just an entertainment Icon, he plays soccer, he raps and he is cool friend to be a round. During his high school time he was known as the Prince of the play Boys club a.k.a Handsome Boy.
