Alur Zouk, Rumber and Afro-beat singer, and songwriter
Roni Covenant born as OKURBOTH RONALD on April
18, in Padel, Parombo Town and currently live in Nebbi
Town, developed a love of music from his childhood and
learned to sing and play instrument as a child. He sang and
played Herbs (Adungu) publicly in the church choir, while
at home he rehearsal the songs of his inspiration “Frank
Edwards” like Under the Canopy and would learn more
skill of playing Herbs. When he was ten he partially lost
love for Music. But it didn’t stop him from realizing his
talent. Ronald later joined up music zone during his
College and University. At 19 he would compose songs
both in Alur and English. He composed several Gospel songs where they sang together with the
church choir at St Andrew Church of Uganda Arapai- Soroti. He made first release in 2018 with
a song titled “Tipo Maleng” means Holy Spirit. Currently, he has more than Seven songs which
include; Mer pa Mungu featuring Ploy, Mungu timu, Yesu Konya, Yesu Ladda Timoni Mungu
emugisa, Imela Kiikii Yesu and Lematek.
