St Lawrence University has offered to give a helping hand to Ugandan musicians by offering over 50 artistes free Scholarship bursaries.

The bursaries were offered to UMA by St. Lawrence University in a partnership deed during a meeting that was held at National Theatre.

This news was shared to us by the Uganda Musicians Association. The body confirms that it is now has a green light to any Ugandan artistes will to step up their education level to join St Lawrence University on a bursary that has been offered to them by this school.

This comes after local singer Maureen Nantume and comedian Michael Kasozi alias MC Mariachi faced embarrassment after they were deported and banned from visiting the USA for the next 10-years over failure to express themselves in the queen’s language.

King Michael, who is currently chocking on debts after he registered a flopped The Best King Michael concert, was the first artist to show interest in enrolling for the bursaries.

According to St. Lawrence University Public Relations Officer, the bursaries will start with effect from the 2020 intake and artists should bare a letter from UMA to enrol to the bursary scheme.

This program will only be available to registered Ugandan Artistes under the umbrella of  Uganda Musicians Association.

St. Lawrence University (Uganda) (SLAU) is a private university in Uganda and it is located in Mengo, Rubaga Division, in central Kampala.
