Police in Adjumani are holding eight suspects following a violent incident at Oasis Dynastic Music Club on Saturday night, September 30, 2025.
Regional Police Spokesperson, Asea Collins, said chaos erupted around 2:00 a.m. after Ugandan artist Kapeke failed to attend a scheduled performance, prompting angry patrons to turn violent.
Two police officers, CPL/DRV Ojara Samuel and PC Meri Francis, were injured after being hit by stones and are receiving treatment. A police patrol vehicle, televisions, plastic chairs, beer crates, bottles, and window glass were among the property damaged during the unrest.
Police identified the suspects in custody as the club’s operations manager, Kebuka Pamela Tracy, and seven others: Iceta Patrick, Grace Ukusi, Mundua Gloria, Obudra Joel, Andruga Ochora, Unziku Emmanuel, and Igama Steven.
Officers dispersed the crowd using tear gas and live bullets to restore order. Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
