Hoima based Bunyoro music artist Mwebaze Robert commonly known as Robert Prince says besides being naturally talented in music, the church played a big role in nurturing him in the industry.

While in an interview with Westnilexpozed media team, Robert Prince said that Church inspired him to praise Jesus Christ through the music industry, which treaded his first-ever hit song 'things fall apart'. He also adds that former Makoma family and late Lucky Dube a South African reggae artist also influenced him to join the industry.

Robert Prince used to sing all voices in choir from Sunday school to secondary level, joined Calvery gospel choir before he had met David King.

He met David King at Duhanga Boys' primary school and Kitara secondary school Hoima and commenced International Gospel Music Explosion- IGME family in 1999.

Robert Prince has recorded more than 100 songs, ten albums and few videos, he is however compiling his eleventh worship album, adds that people are no longer interested in albums but songs. "The problem of upcoming artists is greedy for money, they should make music as their hobby then money will come in later, promote and be the first fun of your music then others will come later" Robert advised the upcoming artists.

An artist can die but his/her music will never die therefore upcoming artists should be patient in the industry, give time to the producers and managers, accept to grow in music industry and appreciate one another, He added. Robert Prince also said that as there is demand for developing the industry in Bunyoro, he has set up talent theater performing, acting short comedy movies and many others.
