Alur’s long-time musician, Black Mamba, has publicly stated that he should not be categorized among Uganda's so-called “music veterans or legends.”
The artist made the remarks during the Friday Dance Force Party show on Pakwach FM, hosted by Verari the Classic Man, while promoting his upcoming "Attack Music Concert" slated for November 30, 2025, at Perfect Guest House, Angal Town Council, Nebbi District.
Black Mamba said some of the artists labeled as veterans have failed to support emerging talents, describing their attitude as “selfish.” He emphasized that his decision to step away from the “Legend” category is aimed at fostering collaboration with younger artists for mutual growth.
“The legendary artists don’t give the expected support to young artists who are currently running the scene,” he said. “I want to work together with the new generation so we can all benefit.”
The “This Year” singer also revealed that he is currently working with Star Boy Junior, who is writing his new songs. So far, the duo has written five tracks, including Mamba’s upcoming single “Figure One.”
Speaking on the Daily Fix Podcast on YouTube, Mamba said he is focused on rebranding and rebuilding his career. He urged bloggers, media practitioners, and fans to stop comparing him with other artists and to instead recognize his evolving artistic direction.
“ I am now working with Starboy Junior, and we need to start accepting things,” he said. “With these new songs and videos I’m releasing, I believe it’s time to leave the past behind and focus on new beginnings.”
The Attack Music Concert will be Black Mamba’s fifth major event, with two previous shows held in his hometown, Angal, and three others organized for Alur Music fans living in the Bunyoro region.
