At least 15 artists from Nebbi and Zombo districts have been selected to perform during President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s campaign rallies scheduled for today, October 11, 2025, in the two districts.
Westnile Regional officials of the Uganda National Music Federation said the number of artists was reduced to ensure effective performances, proper time management, and equitable distribution of the available facilities.
JM Kennedy, the Regional Coordinator noted that during the Pakwach campaign rally, many artists turned up to perform, which created challenges in coordination, time allocation, and resource sharing.
“We had limited resources, and the money was meant for about five artists. However, we managed to include more performers out of solidarity,” Kennedy explained, adding that the decision was also intended to give each performer adequate time on stage.
Kennedy also acknowledged minor disagreements from Pakwach-based artists after inviting Bushy Boy and Riaso Boy, who performed voluntarily.
“Bushy and Riaso are regional artists who can perform anywhere in the West Nile. They performed for free, but some local artists expressed dissatisfaction, which I think stemmed from internal politics among Jonam and Alur artists. Apart from that, everything went smoothly,” Kennedy stated.
According to him, the selection of performing artists is coordinated through the District NRM Executive Committees in consultation with the offices of the Uganda National Music Federation team for West Nile. He emphasized that the process is based on entertainment merit rather than political affiliation and urged artists to recognize the NRM’s growing support for the creative industry.
Meanwhile, Rasta Longe, one of the leading coordinators of local performers, confirmed that artists from Nebbi and Zombo are ready to entertain the president and his supporters.
He listed some of the selected artists for Nebbi as Riaso Boy, Astro Lifa, Elton Loverboy, Bush Boy, Lb Sweaz, Mally Wine, Brayo Producer, Maya Keys, Sweet Lala, Cherry Cool, Pretty Ketty, Berocks, Ag Monique, and Swali Shisha.
In Zombo, the lineup includes Rolling Snake, Genius Brown, Miray, Jay Jags, King Riaso, Vano Vino, Jalton, Hungerman, Ashly Dee, and Navy Boy, among others whose names were yet to be confirmed by press time
