Little Miss Uganda for West Nile Region, Davina Anywarach, is taking her childhood passion for supporting vulnerable children a step further with the launch of ECHOES OF HOPE Project Nebbi District on August 27.
The launch will be preceded by a series of activities beginning on August 24 with travel and a campfire at Rainbow FM. On August 25, the team will tour Amiiri Adua Falls in Maracha District, while August 26 will include visits to Biku Prayer Mountain, Alur Kingdom and Got Nebbi. The main launch event will take place in Erussi on August 27.
Project Coordinator Fauzia Jabir says the initiative started in 2023 after Davina visited her ancestral village in Erussi during a school holiday, noting that Davina began gathering vulnerable children with support from her parents, providing them with meals, snacks, entertainment and encouragement.
“Every child deserves an opportunity to learn, grow, and realize their full potential regardless of their social or economic background,” Jabir says in the project documents.
According to Jabir, Davina's interest in child welfare later led her to participate in the Little Miss Uganda 2025 competition, where she was crowned Little Miss Uganda for West Nile Region.
The project now seeks to move beyond short-term support by promoting agriculture, education, mentorship and sustainable livelihoods for vulnerable children and communities.
The organisers are calling for support from government agencies, development organisations, educational institutions, companies, faith-based organisations, civil society groups and individuals, emphasizing that collaboration will be key to achieving long-term transformation in the West Nile communities it serves.
