Livingstone Small Rapper has won two mega awards at the first NBL Dancehall Challenge, emerging as one of the top performers on the riddim.
Small Rapper won Best Male Artiste, while his song Ukweru Ponji was named Best Message Song, strengthening his position in the local and entire Alur music scene.
The challenge featured 26 Alur artistes, whose performances were judged through online voting and a live grand finale held on 2 August at Glow Hub in Paidha Town Council.
Other winners included Lala for Best Female Artiste, Rolling Snake for Overall Artiste, Lito Kid for Best Rap Flow, and Vano Vino for Best Vocalist.
The online voting took the 40% while three Judges observed the performances and awarded the 60% totaling to 100%.
Judge 2, Maas Manus said some artistes failed to mobilize enough votes despite performing well before the live audience.
“Most artistes did not perform well in online voting, that’s why you are not hearing their names in the top five,” he said.
Small Rapper and Lito Kid were among the artistes reported to have strongly mobilized supporters for the online vote. Lito Kid won the Best Rap Flow category by a one-percentage-point margin.
The event was attended by local music promoters, President of the West Nile Musicians Association, Jay Jags who was among the Judges and Astro Lifa, who attended event after performing elsewhere in Zombo District.
