Reasons: Find Out Why The President's Team Is In Arua

The State House Anti-Corruption Unit team is in Arua Municipality to probe the alleged misappropriation of over 400 million shillings into the construction of three roads in the municiplality. The team is also investigating the alleged embezzlement of over 200 million shillings at Arua Public Senior Secondary School. The State House team wants to retrieve documents in relation to the construction of Afra Road, Mango Road and Staff Lane. The team will undertake an on-site inspection of the roads to verify the works. The Lt. Col. Edith Nakalema led unit wants to look into the enrollment at Arua Public Senior Secondary School, procurement documents at the school, accountability of funds received from UNHCR for the hiring out of the school bus, creation of fictitious accounts, among other allegations against the school headteacher and bursar. The team is in Arua Municipality following complaints by whistle blowers. Lt. Col. Nakalema has underscored that these are all allegations for which they are seeking answers.. Source: Radio Paci
