Artists in Greater Nebbi and the wider West Nile region have gained renewed hope for professional music production following the opening of 'Code Line' Studio in Nebbi Municipality.
The studio was established early this year by the famous music producer 'Rams Kugire' and his childhood friend 'Robin Man,' offering local and regional artists another option for recording and producing quality and marketable music.
Rams previously worked with Core Records, producing hit songs for several local, regional and national artistes that dominated on air plays and club plays. However, the moments felt quiet after he fell out with his former boss of Core Records for a period of time, leaving the regional creative industry in limbo.
“Some artistes have been calling me and asking me to work on their projects. Now Code Line is here to stay, and we want artists to come and experience what we can offer,” Rams said.
Code Line manager Juma K says the studio is also seeking to improve the organisation of music production by encouraging artists to make appointments and follow agreed schedules.
"Some artistes demand quick turnaround times, which can put pressure on producers to work beyond planned hours. I urge artists to coordinate with the studio management when booking sessions to help maintain our structured working environment this time." Juma K explains.
The studio is opened at a time when most of established artists in Greater Nebbi are investing in personal home studios, although concerns remain over access to experienced professional producers.
For artists, Code Line provides another avenue for professional production, while its long-term contribution to the region's music industry will depend on the quality, affordability and consistency of its services.
