UMSC Plans to stage a Nationwide Peaceful Protest this Week

The Uganda Muslim Supreme Council (UMSC) has announced it's plan to organise a peaceful demonstration against homosexuality in the country.

 

In a letter dated 21st February 2023 acknowledged by The Secretary for Religious Affairs (UMSC) Sheikh Imran Abdunoor Ssali to all Muslim Kadhis, The National headquarters of UMSC at Old Kampala has gazatted Friday 24th February 2023 to stage a peaceful protest against homosexuality practices in Uganda.

 

According to the letter, UMSC has requested all District Kadhis to organise Khutubas addressing homosexuality, Radio & Television teachings addressing the same as well as holding a peaceful walk through towns with placards, delivering messages in schools and produce press statements against the vice between 10am & 12pm.

 

“This is to inform you that the national headquarters has gazatted 24th-02-2023 for a peaceful protest against homosexuality practice in Uganda…..Walks should be organised between 10:00am to 12:00pm in partnership with Police,” the letter reads.

 

West Nile Xpozed Media Ltd has not however received information about official Police clearance for the peaceful protest.

 

Uganda Muslim Supreme Council (UMSC) is the mother organization and governing body of all Muslims in Uganda with 12.1% of the Ugandan Population unifying about 9,071,671 Muslims in Uganda.

 

Recently, The Church of Uganda though the Archbishop Most Rev. Dr. Kaziimba Mugalu also announced it's position on same sex marriages and choosing to depart ways from the Anglican Church in England after it's decision to embrace homosexuality and blessing gay couples.

 

The Archbishop of the Church of Uganda The Most Rev. Dr. Samuel Steven Kaziimba Mugalu said; The Church of England is NOT free to drag the whole Anglican Communion with them.

 

The President of Uganda, Parliament and key leaders in the country have always raised their voices against same sex vices which are eating the society such as in schools.
