Telecommunications giant, MTN Uganda has confirmed the deportation of their two staff by Ugandan security authorities.

MTN Uganda yesterday Tuesday 22nd Jan 2019 issued a statement confirming the deportation of Olivier Prentout, the telecommunications chief marketing officer and Annie Bilenge Tabura, the head of sales and distribution to France and Rwanda respectively.

According to deputy police spokesperson ACP Polly Namaye, the duo used their positions to engage in acts that compromise the National security.

“We want to commend the Directorate of Immigration and citizenship control for strengthening the screening procedures at all border points. We strongly believe that the deportation of the two foreigners who were using their employment as tools to achieve their ill motives, has enabled us disrupted their intended plans of compromising our national security” she says.
And she urged members of the general public to remain alert and continue helping the police and security agencies by reporting any suspicious activity.
